Montana Agri-Women
Committees

Montana Agri-Women involve themselves in activities via several committees. Throughout the year, these committee members are very busy having fun and promoting education and communication in all aspects of agriculture. .

Membership:  The Membership Committee develops new methods of recreuitment with a goal of increasing membership by 20% annually, developing new member packets for the recruits. It mails out membership letters by August 1st, including a confererance brochure, and lets members know if their annual dues have been received. It maintains a current member list, forwarding any changes to the president and secretary. The Membership Committee works closely with the American Agri-Women education chair as well as our own Education Committee with having a booth at MAW events.

Education Committee:
The Education Committee utilizes the annual conference for education venues and looks for speakers and workshop presenters that can address current educational needs. New for 2002, it has been split into children's and adult education committees, with some goals overlapping.
The Children's Ed Committee actively participates in Ag in Montana Schools programs at our respective locales. It takes advantage of education opportunites through AAW and contact experts and fellow members for educational materials, forums, and methods. It also encourages FFA and 4-H communication and program assistance.
The Adult Ed Committee concentrates on meeting the needs of member education and other areas of interest. It works with the Program and Legistrative committees on issues that may need focus. It also contacts Chambers of Commerce in members' home towns to offer organization, participation and other help with their designated Ag tours and other Ag-related events while encouraging their involvement in MAW activies. The Adult Committee looks for opportunities to develop programs that will educate the urban community about agriculture, as well.

Program Commitee:
The program committee develops an ongoing list of speaker possibilities for programs. It schedules and confirms all speakers, arranging for locations, meals, sponsors' recognition, refreshments, door prizes, registrations, publicity, press releases and thank you's. It is also works closely with the Finance Committee on fundraising, sponsorships, ect.
